Is Heath Ledger another clic case of "You don't know what you've got until it's gone"?

He was a good actor before but I think his performance in The Dark Knight transcended everything else he did, except maybe Brokeback Mountain (I haven't seen it) and it's just such a shame that he had to die at the prime of his life. I think we would have seen great things from him.
