Bye Bye Birdie Rosie audition?

Im trying out for Rosie in my high school's production of Bye Bye Birdie. Im defintily an Alto and I know Rosie's range is a bit lower so it should be okay. Any song suggestions for my audition? Can anyone also give any advice on Rosies character?
