Christians, to what extent do you think anti-Christians in general...?

... develop an understanding of Christianity primarily based on white evangelical Southern Christians that they see on television, or primarily based on the one church they went to as kid? There are lots of sociological data on Christians available, but I don't get the impression that people consult them to learn about that which they hate.
